Children drawing in the classrooms
With the hostel children and some visitors
This blog will detail my teaching and personal experience as I set off on a volunteer adventure to Guwahati, India to teach at the Parijat Academy. I will be here for about 2 months teaching English and Math and artwork and computer skills with children that stay in the on campus hostel.
Hi Dhaujee,
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of Guwahati are total nostalgia. The kids of Parijat Academy are very fortunate to have you over in their lives. I hope that like them you are able to come back with tonnes of sweet memories to cherish for years to come. Please convey my best wishes to Uttam. Wishing you the very best.

Dhaujee,
ReplyDeleteIts really great of you take this up. Hope that you like the place and also the experience of teaching the students and vice versa. Although I am from Assam myself i have never been able to take up this sort of assignments in Assam although I was involved with teaching a few students from a neardby slum when I was in Kolkata. Maybe some day I would get the chance.

I was there in Parijat in March 2008 - with my wife. It was very good interacting with the students - my second visit since Jan 2007.
ReplyDeleteUttam Teron deserves credit for all the good work.
